A Crisis Center Christmas

‘Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the Crisis Center
Not an office was empty, not even the Director;
The building was filled up with people who care,
About West Texans in crisis who need someone there;

The staff met last Friday, to celebrate the year,
With sweaters and gifts and holiday cheer;
But the happiest part, and best thing to do,
Was wrapping the presents that were gifted by you;

Angel trees, donations, stuffed animals and more,
Showed that our community’s full of generosity galore;
From restaurants to clubs to people like you,
The love from our cities proved vast and true;

We love you, Odessa, and the Permian Basin,
And are proud to provide shelter, to keep people safe in;
We can’t help but reflect, with the holidays near,
And give thanks for the blessings we’ve gotten this year.
