Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in supporting Crisis Center of West Texas with your time and talents. Volunteerism is a core value at CCWTX, and we are always searching for highly motivated volunteers to join us in our mission. During the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteer opportunities are very limited. We appreciate your patience while we find safe ways to connect with volunteers.

We provide a wide variety of services and benefit from a diverse group of volunteers. See below for some potential opportunities, but please note that our volunteer needs are always changing.

General

CCWTX has a number of everyday needs that can be met by volunteers. These include set-up at special events, cleaning, basic repairs, facilities maintenance, filing, and organization of donations. These roles are great for those looking to fulfill court-ordered community service or young people with limited experience.

Crisis Response Team

Our Crisis Response Team (CRT) members provide support and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault at the hospital after an assault is reported. CRT members complete 40 hours of Sexual Assault Certification Training, including 8 hours of shadowing a veteran member.

Prevention Education

CCWTX's Prevention Team facilitates educational presentations throughout the community. Trained volunteers have the opportunity to attend health fairs and give presentations to students and community members on topics such as healthy relationships, dating violence, and bullying.
